We registered the command to regenerate as a malfunction and re-activated all units which should be active. When we reactivated we found that a number of the drones we had assimilated from the Perth were missing. Analysis through process of analyzation was performed. There were several new variables which could have caused malfunction; the Perth, AFRED, Two of Ten's subunit, the infants from Nublarisa and the Andromeda galaxy. Two of Six performed a diagnostic on AFRED and determined no anomalous readings. Nine of Ten performed diagnostic checks on Two of Ten and its subunit. The subunit was draining more power than standard drones and was thus a possible reason for the false command but this has not been verified. The infants from Nublarisa were augmented in various ways, those we had been unable to assimilate had accelerated immune responses. Adapted Species 10030 nanoprobes were used to assimilate the infants which have now all been placed in maturation. One of the augmented infants grew at an unexpectedly rapid pace and had developed fully only 3 days after being placed in maturation. It excited its chamber and was designated 'Four of Six', replacing a drone we lost during the Perth assimilation. We attempted to send drones back to the Perth but transporters failed to respond to our commands and the Perth went to warp. We attempted to chase the vessel but then our transwarp drive failed to respond. The drive responded quickly afterwards but the Perth had already escaped. We tracked what we thought was leaking plasma from the Perth but it turned out to be a Federation shuttle. A communication came from the shuttle and the voice we heard aboard the Perth said "better luck next time," before the shuttle's warp core overloaded and it exploded. Damage to Probe 815 was minor. We scanned for other warp signatures in the region but found none matching the Federation vessel. We did detect a signal from a Borg interplexing beacon however and thus headed for that. We found an ancient Sphere, approximately 300 years old and sent drones to investigate. Six of Six was incapacitated through a power surge when Three of Ten provided power to the Sphere's computer for long enough for Four of Ten to extract data. Data from the computer revealed the location of three species unknown to the Collective, or at least, their location 300 years ago. The Qhil - Early warp civilization. Technologically, similar to 22nd century Earth. Biologically, the Qhil were humanoids between 5 and 7ft tall as adults, had pale purple skin and pointed nose ridges. Strength was on par to Klingons but immune system, processing power and rate of ageing were all average, on par to Humans. The Qhil had been more interesting to the Borg three centuries ago but would be considered as just worthy by today's standards. They were, however, one of the major powers at the time and had control over a reasonable area of space with three collinated systems inside. The Sphere has been able to assimilate several thousand. The Aiceik - Technology similar to the Qhil with mid 22nd to early 23rd level technology. The Aiceik were powerful telepaths who controlled a region of space close to the Sphere. They had 2 colonized worlds and a large space station. In a raid on the station, the Sphere had assimilation 300 drones. It had been met with heavy resistance and had come away damaged but not beyond repair. The Aiceik were not humanoid but instead had four legs and two arms, somewhat resembling the mythical centors in Earth's history.  The Shiqror - the last memory the Borg Sphere had was being destroyed by a Shiqror fleet. They controlled a vast area of space and had the federation equivalent of 25th-century technology 300 years ago. Their space was far away because the Sphere had floated through space for 300 years. Little was known about the Shiqror because the Sphere had never gotten close enough to assimilate any individuals belonging to the species. Nine of Ten examined the remains of the drones aboard the sphere. It found no salvageable units but did identify DNA matching the records in the Sphere's system for the Aiceik and the Qhil. Four of Ten discovered an infant frozen in its maturation chamber due to having been exposed to space. The infant appeared to belong to the Aiceik and was tagged for transportation back to the probe. If it is viable we will re-assimilate it. Two of Ten examined the transwarp drive of the Sphere and found that while most components were not viable, the transwarp coil was intact. We have decided to re-assimilate the Sphere. This will increase the volume of drones we are able to bring back from this galaxy.Â

Having gained access to the building and assimilating the individuals in the control room, Two, Three and Seven of Ten began decrypting encoded data from the Nublarisa facility's computer system. Project descriptions for three functions of the facility were described on the computer; Project Dark Worlds, Project Terra Nova and Project Eve. Project Dark Worlds was the technology that had been used to sever our connection for so long; the large scale dampening field. It was powered by an unusual power source referred to as 'Borite-Latilisate'. Project Terra-Nova was a terraforming project, similar to the Federation's 'Genesis' project. It also used Borite-Latilisate for a power source. Project Eve was a genetic engineering project which involved harvesting DNA from numerous different species and accelerating and reversing their evolutionary state in different simulated environments. Four of Ten, Eight of Ten and Six of Six discovered several of the infant test-subjects generated by Project Eve. We were able to assimilate some of them but others resisted assimilation through unknown means. Those we were unable to assimilate were taken back to Probe 815 for further investigation while those that were assimilated were placed in maturation chambers. We discovered a hatch in a laboratory designated 'Terra-Nova Lab'. Memories from an assimilated individual inside the laboratory indicated that the power source was inside the hatch and the Particle 010 signal appeared to be originating from there. We were able to force entrance into the hatch. A sedation gas was released into the atmosphere but the drone's nanoprobes were able to adapt and resist the gas while the mechanism causing it was overridden. Inside the hatch, we found a sealed container with instructions that it was not to be opened. We decided to assimilate the box. There was an explosion and Two of Six was deactivated as a result. The rest of submatricies 34 and 45 were transported back to Probe 815 just in time to avoid deactivation. The planet exploded and then the explosion began to reverse, imploding into a spacial anomaly with gravitational attraction exceeding most black holes. We attempted t resist but Probe 815 was pulled through the anomaly. Probe 815 exited the anomaly and we found ourself severed from the rest of the Collective. We could hear only 400 voices instead of trillions but the examination of communication systems showed no malfunction. Four of Ten was sent to the outside of the probe to gain astrometric data. We did not recognise the star patterns. Two of Ten was instructed to construct a regeneration area for the subunit we acquired on Nublarisa. Repairs were begun efficiently. The probe had been badly damaged by the anomaly so it took several hours to become completely functional again. Once sensors were back online, we were able to estimate our location as the Andromeda galaxy. This explains our inability to hear the rest of ourself, we are too far away. Sensors also confirmed Four of Ten's sighting of a vessel. The vessel was identified as Federation Nova Class, 60 lifeforms aboard. Submatrices 34 and 35 were transported to the Federation vessel, designated 'USS Perth'. We were able to assimilate the individuals on the bridge efficiently but the computer system proved more resistant. The console Three of Ten had been attempting to assimilate exploded as soon as it got close to gaining access. Damage to Three of Ten was minor and Nine of Ten repaired it. The bridge was transformed into an assimilation chamber. Nine of Ten and Three of Six remained there to complete the assimilation of individuals other units assimilated. Newly assimilated Two of Six provided data on a previously unknown species we have designated Species 10032. Two of Six, Three of Ten and Six of Six went to the Perth's unit-repair room (they refer to it as 'sickbay'). There were several damaged units there with low resistance quotients. They were assimilated efficiently along with the medical units that had been treating them. When we tried to assimilate the last individual in the sickbay, a forcefield went up over the bed and the computer's voice said 'stop'. We destroyed the control mechanism, disabled the forcefield and assimilated the individual. He was the vessel's 'captain' and had access codes we could use, although some of his data was irretrievable due to brain injury. Four of Ten and Seven of Ten were sent to the computer core to continue attempts at assimilating the vessel's computer. They arrived to see an individual escape quickly through a Jefferies tube. They were unable to catch him but began attempts at assimilating the computer. The Captain's access codes did not work and the data was heavily encrypted. When we finally accessed the data we found little information of use. The reason for the heavy security is unknown. Two and Eight of Ten and Four of Six were sent to Engineering to assimilate a congregation of individuals detected there. They were not transported but instead instructed to walk and assimilate any individuals they encountered along the way. They encountered three individuals. One of them deactivated Four of Six. It was assimilated along with another, one was deactivated. The new drones were transported to the bridge where Nine of Ten began their augmentation. The individual who had deactivated Four of Six replaced it, the other was designated as a maintenance drone and replaced a drone damaged by the anomaly. Two and Eight of Ten took the turbo lift. It was supposed to go to Engineering but instead fluctuated up and down several times before coming to a stop. The door would not open so Two and Eight of Ten prized it open and found they were between floors, stuck in the elevator shaft. Transporters would not work accurately for an unknown reason. They kept misdirecting so that we were unable to collect Eight and Two of Ten this way. The drones remained trapped in the turbo lift for over half an hour. No hardware problems were apparent with the Probe's transporters and suddenly, for a yet unknown reason, the transporter problem appeared to repair itself and we were able to transport Two and Eight of Ten back to the Probe along with the others. Five of Ten was sent to the 'mess hall'. The door was locked. Once Five destroyed the door, it found items of furniture blocking its path. When it finally accessed the individuals inside the room, they began resisting. Three of Ten was sent to assist. Two of Six and Six of Six, having completed the assimilation in sickbay, followed a power concentration to the Perth's astrometrics lab. The door was, again, sealed and burned Two of Six when it attempted to override the its controls. The door was destroyed and as the drones entered the room, they saw the same individual Four of Ten and Seven of Ten had seen in the computer core room, escaping once again quickly through a Jefferies tube before the drones had a chance to reach him. Investigation of the room showed that the console had been recently used but when Six of Six attempted to bring up the last program ran, it was denied access at first but after considerable persistence, we discovered that the last program launched were drivers to some external hardware of unknown design which appeared to take control of the computer. Two of Six found a machine designated 'Advanced Field Research Assistance Droid'. The machine does not match anything thus assimilated and the technology appeared advanced from memories the Perth crew had of it. Two of Six was instructed to assimilate the device and we returned all drones and new technology to the probe. We were about to leave when we had an unexpected thought. We do not know why but we commanded all of our units to regenerate...Â

We decided to wait and find out whether or not the approaching creature posed any threat before acting. The creature turned out to be a large long-necked animal, herbivorous. It ignored the Submatrix 34 drones. We lost connection with all drones except Seven and One of Ten. Another large creature was approaching. This one caused a stampede. The long-necked creature trampled One of Ten into the ground. It suffered severe damage shortly before disconnecting. Seven of Ten and the severed drones moved out of the way quickly enough to avoid damage.   Two of Ten suggested verbally that we assimilate the large carnivore that had caused the stampede because it was fast and could be used for efficient transport. We considered our options and approved this decision. While the creature was unworthy, attaining Particle 011 was the priority and the situation is becoming more difficult as drones continue to disconnect for an unknown reason.   Seven of Ten disconnected last of all after receiving our final command to assimilate the carnivore. Submatrix 34 successfully assimilated the creature. It is the only connected unit we have with this group at present but as its vocal cords are not developed for humanoid speech, we cannot communicate through it. The drones are attempting to work out what to do now that the animal has been assimilated but are confused and disorientated without instruction.   Replacements for Ten and Four of Ten have been sent down at the original transport site and were heading in the direction of the other drones, via an alternate route, when a flying creature captured them. We are attempting to deactivate the flying creature through these units.
