We registered the command to regenerate as a malfunction and re-activated all units which should be active. When we reactivated we found that a number of the drones we had assimilated from the Perth were missing. Analysis through process of analyzation was performed. There were several new variables which could have caused malfunction; the Perth, AFRED, Two of Ten's subunit, the infants from Nublarisa and the Andromeda galaxy. Two of Six performed a diagnostic on AFRED and determined no anomalous readings. Nine of Ten performed diagnostic checks on Two of Ten and its subunit. The subunit was draining more power than standard drones and was thus a possible reason for the false command but this has not been verified. The infants from Nublarisa were augmented in various ways, those we had been unable to assimilate had accelerated immune responses. Adapted Species 10030 nanoprobes were used to assimilate the infants which have now all been placed in maturation. One of the augmented infants grew at an unexpectedly rapid pace and had developed fully only 3 days after being placed in maturation. It excited its chamber and was designated 'Four of Six', replacing a drone we lost during the Perth assimilation. We attempted to send drones back to the Perth but transporters failed to respond to our commands and the Perth went to warp. We attempted to chase the vessel but then our transwarp drive failed to respond. The drive responded quickly afterwards but the Perth had already escaped. We tracked what we thought was leaking plasma from the Perth but it turned out to be a Federation shuttle. A communication came from the shuttle and the voice we heard aboard the Perth said "better luck next time," before the shuttle's warp core overloaded and it exploded. Damage to Probe 815 was minor. We scanned for other warp signatures in the region but found none matching the Federation vessel. We did detect a signal from a Borg interplexing beacon however and thus headed for that. We found an ancient Sphere, approximately 300 years old and sent drones to investigate. Six of Six was incapacitated through a power surge when Three of Ten provided power to the Sphere's computer for long enough for Four of Ten to extract data. Data from the computer revealed the location of three species unknown to the Collective, or at least, their location 300 years ago. The Qhil - Early warp civilization. Technologically, similar to 22nd century Earth. Biologically, the Qhil were humanoids between 5 and 7ft tall as adults, had pale purple skin and pointed nose ridges. Strength was on par to Klingons but immune system, processing power and rate of ageing were all average, on par to Humans. The Qhil had been more interesting to the Borg three centuries ago but would be considered as just worthy by today's standards. They were, however, one of the major powers at the time and had control over a reasonable area of space with three collinated systems inside. The Sphere has been able to assimilate several thousand. The Aiceik - Technology similar to the Qhil with mid 22nd to early 23rd level technology. The Aiceik were powerful telepaths who controlled a region of space close to the Sphere. They had 2 colonized worlds and a large space station. In a raid on the station, the Sphere had assimilation 300 drones. It had been met with heavy resistance and had come away damaged but not beyond repair. The Aiceik were not humanoid but instead had four legs and two arms, somewhat resembling the mythical centors in Earth's history. The Shiqror - the last memory the Borg Sphere had was being destroyed by a Shiqror fleet. They controlled a vast area of space and had the federation equivalent of 25th-century technology 300 years ago. Their space was far away because the Sphere had floated through space for 300 years. Little was known about the Shiqror because the Sphere had never gotten close enough to assimilate any individuals belonging to the species. Nine of Ten examined the remains of the drones aboard the sphere. It found no salvageable units but did identify DNA matching the records in the Sphere's system for the Aiceik and the Qhil. Four of Ten discovered an infant frozen in its maturation chamber due to having been exposed to space. The infant appeared to belong to the Aiceik and was tagged for transportation back to the probe. If it is viable we will re-assimilate it. Two of Ten examined the transwarp drive of the Sphere and found that while most components were not viable, the transwarp coil was intact. We have decided to re-assimilate the Sphere. This will increase the volume of drones we are able to bring back from this galaxy.
