Ana was born Elizabeth Claulore. At the age of 20 she met Victor Morales and two years later they married. 

Victor was very ambitious man. A very successful man. That's why Elizabeth's claims of abuse never resulted in anything being done.

She was finally helped by a group that worked with abused women. For three years they hid her. When she resurfaced on Hope Station, she had changed her name to Ana Ferguson. When Victor eventually found her, she stood up to him and he left Hope Station.

But Elizabeth had reinvented herself and kept the name Ana Ferguson

She taught herself to bake to escape the pain of her marriage and found that she was good at it.
