History – Eden Project
With the growth of the Delta Freedom Alliance one of the early discussions was the building of a Starbase between the expanse of space separating Devu II and Chetzia, two of the more important worlds within the Alliance.
The powers that be within the Alliance decided to make a statement and not just build your run of the mill base but something that covered all bases, something that made a statement to the powers within the Delta Quadrant that the Delta Freedom Alliance was not just a passing fancy, but a serious player.
So in secret it began the building of a station that could provide security for the region, act as supply and repair dock for the Alliance fleet and even trading vessels. The station will encompass a full civilian centre for trade and business and another wing containing diplomatic and research facilities.
Two external dry-docks with the ability to house the Heimdall class starships and three internal bays for ships from light cruisers and below in the centre section of the station. The Diplomatic facilities are immense with twenty meeting rooms, over one hundred VIP suites all fully catered and secure to the highest level.
Timeline
2406: Dakkus Shipyards begins construction of a 2 Regula class Starbases for the Federation, but in the ensuing Cardassian conflict production is stopped for fleet repairs. The DFA buys out the contract. One was near completion the other only the top portion. Construction was moved to a secret location near Chetzia deep within the nebula.
2407: Arklay Shipyards is sub-contacted by Dakkus to assist and speed construction of the Starbase.
2408: With the purchase of Omnicron Shipyards by Dakkus the construction time was slashed with three major building facilities co-operating to finalize construction. The massive Starbase was finally unveiled to the Delta Quadrant on stardate 2408.15.11 when under close escort it was moved from the nebula and began it trek to it final home.
