2415.06 Slave Lolani rescued by Cromwell, counter kidnapped, destroys her kidnapper and herself. Storyline: Lolani, an Orion Slave Girl, is creating a rift in Cromwell and how to respond to her.  The crew remained reserved much of the time, until Commander MarQ locked the crew in the conference room.  The discussions became much more lively then.

The debate had several facets.  Did DFA law apply to Lolani, property of someone else?  Would returning her prevent a war over her ownership with the Romulans?  Could Asylum be granted because of risk to her life?  Can you disobey a direct order from DFA Command to turn her over to prevent a war?  Many questions were raised, but not answered except through circumstance.

Actions taken will create unintended consequences, and as Jek was beamed off the ship, he in turn kidnapped Lolani, to take her away.  Cromwell began a pursuit, as did a pair of D'Deridex battleships, each closing in to capture Jek and Lolani.  But Lolani surprised Jek.  In bringing her aboard, and immediately leaving the scene, it gave Lolani the opportunity to sabotage the engines, and implode them, destroying Jek, herself and the ship.

A spark that could have ignited a Romulan DFA incident and potentially a war was averted.  The cost of the unintended consequences are too early to tell though.

Cromwell starts a new adventure this month.

NRPG:  This last adventure was based on a fan based "TV" series.  I have no affiliation with, and claim no creative contribution to series, but I hope you check out the original, and consider supporting another form of fan fiction.  I thought the episode was so well done, I wanted to run it for the Cromwell crew.  You can see the original here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mOpmIFTxkE Star Trek Continues is a fan based series, Lolani is an excellent example of what can be done, and done well.  Their website is: http://www.startrekcontinues.com/ I hope you enjoy their work as much as I did.

Lolani, an Orion Slave Girl, is creating concern aboard Cromwell.  Is she a precuser to an invasion?  An assassin hired to disrupt the crew?  Who exactly is she working for?  The Cromwell crew is suspicious of her, and her story.  No one is willing to believe her at face value.  Her inconsistencies in her story do not help her position.

Michael has gone back and investigated the Kazon shuttle on which she was found.  It looks like only two of the Kazon were killed by weapons fire, the third, while hit, was killed with a knife matching the one Lolani came aboard Cromwell carrying.

Just as the crew is getting a hold on their position on Lolani and her imminent return to her slave master, Lolani attempts an escape and put under house arrest.  Her slave master arrives, sent by DFA Command to pick her up.

Part Orion - Part Romulan, this jovial fellow challenges the crews perceptions and position as they enjoy a reception, and then dinner.

Will anyone make is past the second course?  Stay tuned.

Background:  Cromwell has sent an away team disguised as local Azarans to locate and bring back Dr Graham, a preeminent researcher who disappeared while doing research on the rapid technology advancements of the Azarans.  The Azarans, a rodent like sentient species has rapidly evolved into the industrial age over a very short time period.

Last month: New City: The Azarans are building a giant city, shaped like a ball.  Commented the away team, it's a giant space hamster ball!  But slowly the neferious forces are revealing themselves.  The Pack, as the universal translator had been translating, is now being called the collective.  The priests are formen of the project of New City.  No one has commented how the priests never refer to themselves as individuals, but always in the plural "We are happy you have decided to join the pack."

Another technologic break through?  The industrialization of Azara has suddenly spawned Transporters?  And Warp Cores?  Has all this a beginning when the Goddess descended  from the stars a couple hundred years ago?  The high priestess, of the goddess,... or a Queen?

In a convergent dialog, Klingons have appeared on Azara.  Brought here bya rouge trader, the Azarans were desperate, and generous with trade offers to acquire dilitium crystals...For new city warp core power?  And why would 'New City' need impulse Engines?

Additional members of the away team have had to be beamed back to Cromwell.  An unknown illness seems to be striking them, rendering them unconcious.  t'Kheall, Martis, and now Maria and Covaar have come back.  t'Kheall has partially recovered, as has Maria.  But what is the cause of this malady?

Scattered members of the away team have been summoned (and beamed in by the priests without prior notice) to the high council chamber, which was hidden below a Starships Torpedo.  No one has lifted a hand towards the other, but three worlds may be on a collision course with destiny.
