Extract submitted from Lt Taylor's Log: "Chief Engineer's Log, Stardate 2420.09. The Battle of Visak'a... where do I begin? It'll probably go down in history along with events like Wolf 359. Cromwell received a distress call from the Visak'a Space Station asking for help against the Borg. Our Borg and the children were sent away for their protection (and ours). By the time we arrived at Visak'a, we'd already worked out that we were in the wrong timeline but that the differences were probably slight. We had to protect this Visak'a and hope that our other selves would act the same. From the reports I've been reading since getting home, it seems they did. Personal details of the battle may vary slightly between the two timelines but the main results were the same. When we arrived at the station we found a tactical cube and a Borg probe. The Sixth Swarm arrived a little after we did under the command of t'Khellian. As well as defending Visak'a from the Borg, we had to steal a Chronoton generator. It would be our only chance to get home since we could no longer slingshot around the star, it had gone supernova as we arrived - earlier than it should have. We had a plan. Fletcher Harris and Alexis Patterson would scout the ship and find out where the Sphere, if there was one, could be found. Based on the information the Enterprise reported the last time the Federation saw the Borg time travel, the temporal vortex was generated by a Sphere which came out of a tactical cube. The cube at Visaka looked the same but we knew finding a chronoton generator onboard may come down to luck. Harris and Patterson managed to find the Sphere without making the Borg consider them a threat so then came the next part of the plan. This was when things got messy. The marines had to infiltrate the ship and steal the generator. I would go with them to disconnect it and Commander Martis would lead a team of Rock Jumpers to get us out. We had some unexpected help from the Sixth Swarm in the form of Michael Reynolds, or Michael tr’Khellrenz as he was known here and his team of legionaries. The fighters, Cromwell and the Sixth Swarm used planet crackers against the cube. I'm told one of the fighters even rammed into it. They did a lot of damage but a not-so-fun fact about the Borg: they are big on redundancy. A Borg cube can function even with 80% of its components destroyed and it kept adapting to everything we threw at it. They made a hole though, a big enough one for us to get in... except something unexpected happened. I guess it shouldn't have been unexpected on hindsight but they dropped their own shields around the hole and let us in. Of course there was a swarm of drones waiting to assimilate us when the dropship landed. We made it out of the assimilation chamber, if barely. I saw things which will haunt me for the rest of my life, including a marine get assimilated from the outside in by his own nanite-suite. We took heavy losses. I owe my life to a Romulan Legionnaire who -" Kit's voice crackled and the recording stopped for a second. "He was assimilated saving me. I... I shot him. A lot of people died or were assimilated, getting me to that generator but against the odds, we got there and with Brinn's help I was able to disconnect it. Martis got us out, except for this one legionnaire who chose to stay behind. Her name was Jilisi. She injected herself with a bio-weapon. A virus that would infect the cube when she was assimilated. Minutes after we left the cube, it self-destructed. The Collective destroying the infected cube so that the virus didn't spread, or so Six informs me. The Borg Probe had left, before the cube exploded. I don't know why. They'd just beamed out their drones and left... I guess they had somewhere else to be? The Borg were gone from Visak'a. We had survived but we'd taken heavy losses. Cromwell alone had lost 80 people, mostly marines but also security officers who'd went down to Visak'a and Fighter pilots. We'd taken 60 people over to the cube and 7 came back. The Sixth Swarm lost 39 ships and 99 fighters. But we had the generator and in spite of losing 70% of its personnel - Visak'a still stood and Pangaere was safe." Begin Log. Six of Twelve. Cromwell collected Six of Twelve, Four of Seven, Toby, Sally and Neilson after its interaction with the Collective was over. We were to program a temporal vortex which would take us to before the Ortus system was destroyed by the supernova. Six of Twelve, Four of Seven, Major MarQ and Captain Sesgaard calculated the course with the least range for error and we returned to the required time. Heron, the individual Commander Martis had brought from Colony 4, went into cardiac arrest. Dr Clark noticed that the star's frequency matched his heart rate, which fluctuated at the same time it did. We deduced that the star and the Ort may be linked. Heron asked Dr Clark to sing. We did not know what this meant initially but Captain Sesgaard theorised that the possible connection between the Ort and the star meant the Ort needed to survive so the star did not go supernova. We needed the star to survive so that we could return to the correct timeline. It was all connected: the Ort needed the star - this was why Heron was unstable, the star needed the Ort -this was why it had gone supernova early, because the Ort had died and Cromwell needed the star to return to our own time.  Captain's log, supplemental:  See Dr. Clarks medical report.  There is an organ within the Ort chest that had an unknown function which we discovered when we first arrived.  While we did not think anything of it initially, when Heron Ort had a heart attack upon looking at the star from ten Forward (Not quite a Cardiac Arrest), he asked Dr Clark to 'sing' to him.  It was something healers evidently did.  Dr. Clark was able to stabilize Heron Ort, and Heron 'sang' to the beauty of the neutron star.  Dr. Clark had theorized the star may have a 'heartbeat' of its own, and there were actually two heartbeats within the bianary system.  Long story short Awyteams convinced the Ort to come to the surface.  Three Ort were brought to the Bridge. The Ort, in sufficient numbers would sing instinctually to the star, which stabilized the mother star and the neutron star's heartbeat (which was having difficulties in labor evidently), which prevented the star going supernova, and gave the mother strength to complete the birth of Ortus (Ironically named for sunrise or origin).  Cromwell needed the Ort to survive, and we will debate the Prime directive exceptions for years, but without action/intervention, The Ort, the Mother star (Going supernova), a good portion of the sector, and Cromwell would not have survived.  Unintended consequences for blind adherence to the Prime Directive. An away team returned to Ortus III. It consisted of Fletcher Harris, Alexis Patterson, Dr Clark, Tas and Six of Twelve. It was required for the away team to be ‘volunteers’. Six of Twelve would be useful for communications so we suggested it go. It was instructed to find the definition of ‘volunteers’. We complied but we did not understand. It was about ‘freedom’ and we do not know what this means. We asked Captain Sesgaard if Six of Twelve /had/ to be a volunteer. It did not. Six of Twelve is a weapon. Six of Twelve is not ‘free’. Six of Twelve, Fletcher Harris and Alexis Patterson collected an individual from Colony 7 while Tas and Dr Clark collected one from Colony 2. They also opened the valve so that the Ort in Colony 2 would not die from over-heating as they did in our last iteration of the timeline. The individuals, Toc from Colony 2, Heron from Colony 4 and Muraj from Colony 7, sang to the star and it began to stabilize. The star did not supernova, it gave birth.   We do not entirely understand the nature of the connection between the Ort and the star as both lifeforms are new to us, but the Ort surviving and singing to the star enabled its survival and the birth of its offspring. We saw the star produce a smaller star and we saw the smaller star leave the system. Perhaps they are a symbiotic species and the infant has gone to find another species to join with in the same way its parent was joined to the Ort? We could not learn more as Cromwell had to return to our own timeline. We used the star to do this in a final slingshot maneuver. Cromwell has successfully returned to our timeline and is now enroute to Devu II. We received a United Earth distress call. This is unusual given United Earth no longer exists. We collected the individual from United Earth and her subunit. We also removed the Plutonium she was using to power her communication device. The device used to send the distress call had been adapted from a radio transmission device the species native to the planet used for their own communications. The planet seemed to shift in and out of time, meaning in spite of spending only 7 years on the surface, the individual from United Earth, designated Irina Pavlova, was actually gone for 260 years.  Captain's log, supplemental: The planetary orbit is empty.  We can track some regualar disruptions of orbits of the planets.  Current theory is this may be a phasic planet, appearing only on occasion, likely brought into phase by our own Chroniton leap using the borg Chroniton generator.   Irina and a local child were rescued, and are being returned to Earth.  System is labeled as hazardous to prevent accidental phasic shifts creating instability in the system.  Ensign Mallory ‘resigned’ from the DFA. This means she is leaving. She was supposed to go to the planet with Six of Twelve and Captain Sesgaard but she did not. She said she would not go if Six of Twelve went. She disobeyed a command, like Twelve of Twelve, but Captain Sesgaard said this was not a malfunction. We do not understand. Data from Tas suggests she should not leave but may require a new function. We will suggest this solution.   A promotion ceremony was held. All data regarding service record updates, ribbons, awards, and chain of command priorities have been updated

<Begin Log> <Six of Twelve> <2420.06> The away team had been out of contact for longer than the protocol for reporting in requires so a second away team was sent to retrieve their status and recover the first team if they were damaged. The second away team consisted of Commander Martis, Major MarQ, Crewman Cer'dan, Lt Tas, Crewman Goch, Lt Greene, Lt Harris and Lt Norris. They transported to the planet's service and went down the same chasm the first team had entered. We lost contact then.

<Data from Lt Tas> When we got to the surface, we came to the hole that the first away team had entered. I nearly slipped into it but Martis caught me. We made it down the chasm without any problems but when we got down there, the Ice chunck started to fall from the walls. There were a lot of minor injuries, including a scratch to DJ's face, my cheek and Martis' head but the biggest problem was Goch: he was stuck. Crewman Goch had been trapped by a huge chunk of fallen ice. Martis, DJ and the marines managed to get him out and, to my surprise, he was a little shaken but uninjured. The ice had not hit his leg, it had just stopped him from moving. We found a large metal door and Goch pulled it open. He nearly became a Goch-Sandwich but Fletcher jumped in just in time to get him out of the way. Poor guy wasn't having much luck. When we got into the colony we met a group of people from a race called the Ort. Lini had disappeared but was still within comm-range. Wells and one of the Ort went after her while the rest of the group followed the Ort to their Community Centre. There was a buffet spread out for us when we got there and the Ort seemed very hospitable, curious to learn about us and happy to share about themselves.<End of data from Lt Tas>

Captain Sesgaard told Six of Twelve to release Brinn from the brig. We had finished searching for nothing. Brinn has been assigned a function in Ten Forward. Six of Twelve took him there and provided updates. We told him that we had traveled 5000 years into the past and that we were in orbit of a planet in the system of an unstable star. We then informed him that he must bring order to Ten Forward because the replicators are offline. Brinn was efficient. He instructed Four of Seven and Six of Twelve to clear the tables and we began designating units. Their designations were called when tables became available. Six of Twelve had to leave because it was required on the bridge.

The away team had not reported in 2 hours and 4 seconds so Captain Sesgaard and Six of Twelve went to Ortus III to investigate. We climbed down the chasm and found blood from Species 5618 and Species 180 in trace amounts. Major MarQ then contacted Six of Twelve through our neural link and provided an update. Both away teams were in the community centre in a colony beyond the metal door. We found the away teams, minus Crewman Cer'dan and Petty Officer Wells. Goch had been damaged by a fruit but Dr Clark had repaired him. The damage was caused by an 'allergic reaction'. Dr Clark said this is similar to when Six of Twelve drank wine. Individuals suffer unique reactions to environmental toxins, even amongst the same species and they do not adapt to them in the same way the Borg do. We learned that the source of the blood was the away teams being damaged in an accident at the bottom of the chasm. Six of Twelve and Lt Harris were sent to locate Crewman Cer'dan and Crewman Wells. We found their signals at an assimilation ceremony of some description. It is called a 'linking' ceremony.<End Log>

<Begin Log><Sixof Twelve><2420.07-2420.08>

After all of Cromwell's away teams had been brought back together, we split them again. There were two other active colonies on Ortus III to explore. Commander Martis, Lt Greene, Lt Tas, Ensign Mallory, Ensign Themoi and Ensign Radkene proceeded to the closest of the two colonies designated 'Colony-2'. Details from Colony 2 are as follows:

<Data From Ensign Tas>

We arrived at Colony 2 to find a similar metal door to the one on C7. Unlike on C7 though, we didn't have to climb down a chasm to get in. We were greeted by a man named Soerec who appeared to be suffering from symptoms of dehydration and heat stroke. When we entered the colony we found out why. The temperature in there was over 55 degrees Celsius and rising.  The problem turned out to be a heat valve which was stuck open. The colonists had been afraid of the valve freezing over so had left it open to allow enough heat in to thaw the ice and stop the colony from freezing. Unfortunatly, the underground room where the valve was became so hot that no one could get back in to close the valve afterwards which meant instead of freezing to death, the colony was now slowly cooking to death. Ensign Radkene, as a Tholian, could have safely entered the room and closed the valve. Mallory insisted this would be in violation of the Prime Directive. When I tried to take command of the situation so that Radkene could save the colony, Mallory had us transported back to Cromwell. *Sounds of Sobbing* There, there was nothing I could do. I was going to go back and help them anyway but by the time I'd gotten an EVA suit ready a general recall had already been sounded. I'm sorry Six, I can't talk about this any more.<End of data from Ensign Tas>

<Resume Log>  The other colony was designated 'Colony 4'. Lt Harris, Lt Petalosa, Ensign Xozalt, Crewman Goch and Petty Officer Wells went to this colony. They faced resistance upon entrance. Crewman Goch and Ensign Taylor were taken, Lt Petalosa was knocked unconscious and Lt Harris was injured. Petty Officer Wells was able to get a distress call to Colony 7 and a rescue team was sent.

Commander Martis and Lt Greene were recalled from Colony 2 to assist in the rescue and Lt S'Hirt brought 'The Brick' down with several marines. Major MarQ organized the marines into submatricies around Lt Lochwood, Lt Norris and Major MarQ.

We arrived tunnel leading to the colony and detected several lifeforms. The lifeforms began firing at us before we were in firing range. Their projectile weapons had a greater range than Six of Twelve's disruptors or the phaser rifles. Six of Twelve moved through the bullets, taking heavy damage and destroyed them when it got into range. Major MarQ destroyed the units on the flank and once in range, the rest of the marines eliminated the threat. Five units were damaged. Dr Clark repaired all damaged units. Six units were beyond repair and had already been deactivated. These units were removed by Lt S'Hirt and taken back to Cromwell.

Once inside the colony, we took cover from the threats and had a meeting. Major MarQ and Commander Martis were disharmonious. Major MarQ said that his function was to protect Commander Martis but Commander Martis resisted protection. We did not understand the discord. Commander Martis said that until we returned, she was the Queen. She said that Six of Twelve must ignore any commands from Major MarQ which contradict those given by her. We did not understand why their commands would be different. The disharmony between them reduced the overall efficiency of our collective. We think it had something to do with emotions but we do not understand the emotions involved. Further research on the causes of individual disharmony is needed. Why did Commander Martis require more protection than other units from Major MarQ and why did Commander Martis resist said protection?

We went to look for the missing units. We searched houses containing varying degrees of resistive elements. Six of Twelve destroyed all resistance it encountered but left non-threats unharmed as instructed. Kit contacted us then. She said that she and Goch were being held captive and that they were damaged. We began moving towards their position but were intercepted by further resistance.

These threats were disharmonious. They seemed to have different goals; to fight and to leave. The Commander said they were to kill 'The Blue Demon and his Death Machine'. This is a metaphor for Major MarQ and Six of Twelve. Lt Norris and Lt Lochwood were designated as overwatch. They were able to deactivate the threats from behind while Six of Twelve, Major MarQ and Commander Martis dealt with those in front. We were told to stop firing when they ran away. We complied. We received a call at this point from Ensign Xozalt. She, Fletcher, Petty Officer Wells and Lt Petalosa required backup as they were being attacked.

Lt Martis and the marines went to provide this backup while Six of Twelve, Major MarQ and Dr Clark went to release Kit and Crewman Goch. Further resistance was encountered and destroyed at the prison before we reached Kit and Crewman Goch. Commander Martis, Lt Greene, Ensign Xozal, Lt Lockwood and Lt Norris went to assist Lt Harris, Petty Officer Wells and Lt Petalosa. They found Lt Petalosa unconscious. Fletcher and Petty Officer Wells were severely damaged and Commander Martis became damaged during the encounter. They were able to defeat the resistance there however and make it to the transport site in time. Six of Twelve, Major MarQ and Dr Clark also made it to the transport site in time. Lt S'Hirt was in the dropship with Captain Sesgaard.

On the way back to Cromwell, Major MarQ blacked out due to blood loss. He said that Six of Twelve could carry him to sickbay and that the bullet in his shoulder was to be kept. We informed Dr Clark. Major MarQ is more resilient than most individuals. He waited for a convenient time before blacking out so as not to impede our efficiency.

We returned to Cromwell and Six of Twelve was instructed to regenerate. Our cycle was disrupted when power was reduced to compensate for the shielding which would protect Cromwell from Ortus' radiation as we made the temporal jump, sling-shotting around the star. Ortus went supernova on our return. All life on Ortus III was destroyed. That was 5000 years ago.

We have now returned to our own time. We detected a small disturbance in space-time but as it was very small, Kit instructs us to ignore it. Six of Twelve and Four of Seven have been sent to Sentinel Station to visit Outanyocon.

<End Log>

Captain additions.  A number of Cromwell crew are noting unusual facts not from our memories.  It has become appearent we are in a parallel universe, and not our own.  Normally we would just jump back, but the star we used to travel in time has gone supernova ahead of schedule and no longer is available.  We are playing a long shot gamble to get us back involving the borg.  For that reason we have sent the civilians to Chetzia and the Cromwell Borg to Sentinal station. <end Captains log>

<Begin Recording. Stardate 2419.12>

Colonel Reynolds, Six of Twelve, Dr Clark and Thorn followed Four of Seven's proximity signal to outside a containment centre in the town that Sam Sol originated from. Captain Sesgaard transported back to Cromwell after contacting Lt Harris and Commander Martis. Thorn and Dr Clark went inside the containment facility to try and ask for the release of our units. Shooting our way in may have been more efficient but Colonel Reynolds said this approach was better.

Lt Harris contacted Six of Twelve. He said that there were sufficient units assigned to the rescue operation and that he and Commander Martis would return to their mission of contacting the Terran rebels. Sam and Kaden were also working to release Four of Seven, Kit, Lt Hemstum and Lt Greene. <Pause Recording: Data from Lt Taylor>

The four of us woke up at different times. I was the last to wake up, just after Four, I think. I felt really groggy. Like a hangover but worse. From what the other's told me, I was lucky to be alive because these people tend to ah... dispose... of sick prisoners rather than treat them. There were several other people in the cell with us but only one I remember talking too. I think his name was Neil. We didn't have much time to find out what he was in for because all of a sudden a little girl appeared at the door. She was so thin that she was able to squeeze through the bars. Her name was Sally. She told me that Sam had sent her and that another child was going to get our stuff so that we could escape. Sally also told me that she had no parents and had lived on the streets her own life. She was so tiny and didn't look much older than MJ. The more time I spent with Sally, the more sure I was that I had to save her from any more suffering. An equally skinny little boy came from the vents and delivered our stuff and a key. We were able to escape in a big stampede. I scooped Sally up just before she got squashed. Turns out, Sam and Kaden had orchestrated the whole thing and had caused a distraction for the police so that Sally and Neilson could get in and rescue us. We met them outside a bookstore with Tas and asked for immediate beam out, taking Sally and Neilson with us.

<End of Data from Lt Taylor>

We received data from Four of Seven informing us that it and the others had been rescued and returned to Cromwell along with two Terran subunits, so Thorn, Six of Twelve, Dr Clark and Colonel Reynolds returned to Cromwell as well. Commander Martis left shortly after but Lt Harris returned to Terra to continue his mission.

When we returned to Cromwell, we found that the Christmas Program had activated. It was set during 1950s Earth and there were several locations to explore including Ray's Cafe, the Rattlesnake Club and a hotel with a nightclub. We gave Captain Sesgaard his gift. It is a cat. He does not have a designation yet. Captain Sesgaard explained that it will take time to install a designation because 'names are what make individuals'. We also gave a gift to Sam Sol (an isolinar chip containing holographic representations of various vessels) and Lt Hemstum (we gave Hemstum a blue bear. Its designation is Cuddles-2). Lt Hemstum made cake. We shared eating subroutines so that Four of Seven could eat the cake without risk of deactivation, like the first time Six of Twelve ate.

Lt Greene and Kit became the primary units for the Terran subunits. The subunits ran around the cafe and made a 'snowman'. This is a semi-humanoid structure constructed of snow. Thorn sang in the hotel nightclub while Colonel Reynolds watched. Captain Sesgaard, Dr Avri and Sam communicated in the Rattlesnake club. Six of Twelve and Four of Seven were assigned the task of helping Sam adapt to modern technology. So far, he has been adapting efficiently, with emergency procedures expected to be completed by January 10th at current rate of assimilation.

Santa Claus came on Christmas Eve. We are still unable to determine his species or how his reindeer fly. He provided our collective with various gifts, primarily books and Four of Seven was given a toy crocodile, like Cuddles. <Pause Recording: data from Ensign Tas> I'm a few chapters into my book and really enjoying it. You'd be amazed how much life there is in the delta quadrant... and some of the animals don't eat your brains. I do hope I get to encounter a Garzillian Mammoth one day and... wait? This is for a report Six? An official report? Are you sure the Captain really wants my book review? Stop recording this Six. <End Data from Ensign Tas>

Lt Muraj and Commander Sinjin both left Cromwell. We do not know all of the details but Kit said that they were probably assigned to other vessels within our collective? They both left together, just before the start of the Christmas party.

Kit and Lt Greene relocated into different quarters with their subunits and began the process of 'decorating'. Kit says that 'decorating' involves changing the appearance or arrangement of the room without altering its functionality. We do not understand the purpose of this. It sounds like an inefficient use of time.

We have made contact with an unidentified entity shaped like an egg. It is impervious to scans, registering no bio or electrical signals and it has just breached our shields and entered Cromwell. Six of Twelve is going down to the docking bay with Colonel Reynolds now to investigate. <End Recording>

<Begin Recording Stardate 2420.01 - 2420.03>

The Egg-shaped vessel cracked and two lifeforms came out. They were humanoid. We later found out that their species is designated the 'Aesir'. There were two Aesir individuals designated 'Eve' and 'Smith'. The Aesir had telepathic, empathic and telekinetic abilities and were looking to assimilate a subunit from Terra possessing these same abilities. The subunits the Aesir wanted were the ones Kit and DJ Greene had already taken. Sally and Neilson had empathic and telekinetic abilities, respectively. Neilson malfunctioned during discussion with the Aesir, using his telekinetic abilities to throw objects. Kit and Ensign Xozalt received minor damage but Smith shielded the occupants of the room from the majority of the projectiles using a telekinetic forcefield. Neilson passed out and went to sickbay. Sally spoke with the Aesir in private, with Ensign Xozalt waiting outside.

New units, Steven Edgeware and Nisala Epelo, went to investigate the Aesir vessel with DW179. The vessel took control of Steven Edgeware, drawing him in. We later found out that this was actually Sally, unconsciously experimenting with her empathic abilities. Nisala Epelo stunned Steven Edgeware with her phaser, setting of alarms. Ensign Xozalt left Sally in response to the phaser fire in the shuttle bay. Nisala Epelo and Steven Edegware went to sickbay.

Sally went missing. The Aiser say that she went into a place we could not follow using her abilities. Security has been searching but Sally was not aboard Cromwell.

A new unit, Ensign Mallory, arrived. She is a first contact specialist (and a second contact specialist). We had a meeting where teams for the second contact were decided. Six of Twelve, Dr Clark, Lt Petalosa and DJ Greene would be on the 'culture team'. We were to look for signs of cultural contamination on Terra. Lt Harris went down as the political 'team'. Is it a team if there is only one individual? Ensign Tas, Ensign Dribu, Ensign Radkene and Sargent Slattery were the biological team. There was going to be a diplomatic team as well, including Captain Sesgaard, Lt Commander Martis and Banor MarQ, but they never made it down. Marines were held in reserve in case any teams needed extraction.

On the planet, we detected some signs of 'cultural contamination' including posters with images of Four of Seven, Oliver, Hemstum, Tas and Kaden and the words 'we are not alone'. No Borg or DFA technology was detected during our search though. A subunit attempted to steal our PaDD but failed. Species 10026 and 180 individuals were detected inside a cafe.

<Incert data from Ensign Tas> We began the ecological mission near the shoreline as we wanted to collect as many samples there as possible before the tides came in. Midshipman Sol warned me of the danger of the tides rising and of some environmental hazards - including saw grass which I'll get too in a minute. Dribu and I found some exotic fish and Radkene found fluorescent sea-weed by the shore. In the swamp, we encountered the saw grass... well... I encountered the saw grass when I fell into it. Radkene pulled me out. I can't thank him enough for that as it was incredibly painful. I had numerous lacerations from the sharp plant but Slattery and Dribu were able to treat the injuries quickly. We followed crying sounds and found a very strange toad. In spite of looking like an amphibian, the animal actually had mammalian organs. It was a baby and it was hurt, probably attacked by a preditor. A female toad lay close by, dead. Presumanly his mother. The eco-team beamed back with the toad. Dribu and I were able to operate on the toad. I expect him to make a full recovery and have named the species 'Calidum-sanguinem Bufonem' or 'warm blooded toad' in Latin.<End of data from Ensign Tas>

We went into the cafe to investigate the alien signals. Terran soldiers followed in after us. They were checking everyone for a disease using an electric thermometer. Dr Clark demanded information from the soldiers. The away team was scanned and allowed to leave. We were to return to Cromwell, but transporters were down. Dr Clark had stolen one of the soldier's thermometers to try and collect data on the disease. The soldiers discovered this and began chasing us. Lt Petalosa said that we were not to shoot them. On Cromwell, Steven Edgeware, Oliver and Lt S'Hirt had organised a rescue mission in the Butterfly. They were able to transport us back to the shuttle where we were to stay in quarantine while the doctors determined whether or not the disease was a threat. The eco-team was also in quarantine in the menagerie. Lt Banor delivered supplies via 'Rock Jumpers'. This involved being tethered to Cromwell and delivering the supplies trough the airlock in zero gravity. We received enough sustenance and energy for 48 hours and a portable toilet so that Steven Edegware could dispose of his waste. We connected the recycling system to Six of Twelve's regeneration outlet to conserve as much power as possible. Quarantine did not last as long as expected because the nature of the virus was determined as harmless to Cromwell. It was a 'cold'. The Government on Terra is suspected to have been using it as a distraction while they searched for non-Terran lifeforms.

Cromwell's away team were not the only non-Terran lifeforms on Terra. Lt Harris discovered that Starfleet's Section 31 were also operating down there, investigating the rebel movement. Their vessels have not appeared on scanners but, given what we have assimilated about and from Section 31, they are likely using advanced cloaks to conceal themselves.

The computers had been set to run a diagnostic because Steven Edegware mistook EMH1's normal subroutines as a malfunction. DW179 responded to this malfunction report and organised a full system diagnostic. This is why transporters were offline. When Miss Clara went offline with the other holograms, Toby left the Childcare Centre and went in search of Commander Martis. He found Four of Seven in Ten Forward. Four of Seven took Toby to the holodeck looking for Commander Martis... who was looking for Lt Fletcher. Commander Martis found Lt Fletcher eating dinner in the 'Fantasy Island' simulation. Toby and Four of Seven's hovercar crashed in a forest. Six of Twelve found them and we used the lai Mr Roarky gave us (which appears to be a transportation device inside the program) to find Lt Commander Martis and Fletcher Harris. Meanwhile, Ensign Mallory submitted her mission report to Captain Sesgaard and was then ordered to interact with the rest of our collective. Ensign Mallory went to Fantasy Island on the holodeck and was introduced to Nisala Epelo. <End Log>

<Begin Recording 2420.03 - 2420.04.12>

Mr Roarke asked if Six of Twelve and Four of Seven were married. We asked what 'married' meant and he said the following:

"When two people are inseparable. When they can complete each other sentences. When their thoughts become as one. They call that perfection.". This sounded like an accurate description of assimilation so we answered yes. Mr Roarkey said that there would be a ceremony of some description because of this.

Commander MarQ arrived and told us that we were to be doing a training exercise in the forest. We connected Commander MarQ's PaDD to our interlink nodes so that we could communicate more efficiently with him. Several marines arrived to join the training exercise and we headed into the forest. Movement was detected but it was non-threatening. Caused by holographic animals. We heard running water which lead us to a chasm. Transporters and vehicles were unavailable so we had to find another way over the chasm. It was too far to jump. With Commander MarQ's instruction, a transportation system was set up. Some units would get across the chasm first and then Six and Four would be pulled across with harnesses. Commander MarQ was to come across the chasm last. While we were setting this system up, Lt Hemstum, Oliver and Lt Lockwood found us. They had been taken to the holodeck by MAD264 which had woken them from their cycles, meaning to find Commander MarQ. The robot was suffering from a malfunction which enhanced its emotional responses. It had 'panicked' when Commander MarQ did not return home and had gotten the marines to help it.

It was 02:00 when Oliver, Lt Hemstum and Lt Lockwood arrived. They had brought a letter from Captain Sesgaard for Commander MarQ which explained that Colonel Reynolds was leaving for training. Commander MarQ's designation was updated to Major MarQ and he was assigned as CO of Cromwell's Marines in Colonel Reynold's absence. We went to the transporter room to watch Colonel Reynolds, MJ, Petty Officer Wells and Captain Adams leave. Colonel Reynolds said, "remember who you are". We were confused by this. We have been informed that he will be returning but we do not know when. When we returned to the simulation, most units slept until 05:00. Six of Twelve and Four of Seven stood watching for threats and alerted the others when it was 05:00. They consumed sustenance and then we made it over the chasm. Major MarQ said that Six of Twelve and Four of Seven were individuals. We told him that this was incorrect. We are to discuss it after the simulation as Major MarQ says he has something to explain.

<Data from Lt Tas> Let me think Six. I got a promotion to Lt j.g so you can update my designation! I had a chat with Commander Martis about... well um... never mind what that was about... Paige and Steven are getting to know each other and I heard Red took Opilia flying. Clark finally met up with Rose for dinner. Ah... the Captain was here. He went to dinner with a holographic lady called Jullie. Kit and DJ took Neilson and Sally to see Toby at the restaurant.<End data from Lt Tas>

We encountered another drone in the Arboretum. Its designation is 1337 of Research & Development, Primary Adjunct of Unimatrix Awesome. Unimatrix Awesome is not a place. We double-checked just in case. We are to call it 'Leet'. Leet has been in the Research and Development laboratory for the past 2 years and 10 months. It was created by Dr Bruen. Dr Bruen reanimated the cybernetic components of an inactive drone using EMH software which explains why Leet appears to be dead - it is. It's Borg designation is 13 of 124, tertiary adjunct of unimatrix 1773. All three designations have been stored. <End Log>
