Captain's Personal Log: <Begin recording> We received a mysterious call from the mining colony Rhonnda.

Lt Pania was mistaken for the captain by the locals. The message was cut off before much information could

be ascertained. I sent an away team led by my new XO, Major Reynolds to investigate reports of sabotage.

There was a broken Isolinear chip at the subspace transceiver, probably damaged by one comm officer named

Derec, although he claims innocence because he was with Mr Collier at the time of the failure. Otherwise, it

seems this was an escalating internal conflict with irritation thrust upon them by both sides, such as jamming

the Biodome doors. Upon investigation, this 'conflict' seems to stem from a difference of opinion in what was

appropriate gifting at Christmas. The ring leaders were Mr and Mrs. Collier. Mr Colllier, the director of the

mining colony has been cutting corners and several instances were uncovered by our investigation, nothing to

obvious dangerous levels, but running along the margins. An unfortunate series of events occurred where air

filters were being reused, and within normal tolerance limits, but given the semi toxic atmosphere and mining

methods employed, created a corrosive problem causing brake failure on some heavy haulers. Captain Thorn

and Lt ch'Kayag were instrumental in uncovering the marginal uses of the air filters. Replacing the air filters,

and Subspace isolinear chip brought the equipment back on line. Commendations for Ensigns Xaavik and

Nerik for their work. Commendations also for Dr 'Cully' and Lini, who found vitamin deficiencies from limited

food preparation, and over reliance on replicator rations, easily solved by some fresh fruit. Also worthy of

mention are Lt Pania Six and Ensign Monroe who investigated the sources of external encouragement for

saboteurs, eliminating that possibility. Communications seemed normal for the colony; Contact with Freighters,

supply ships for (suboptimal) Christmas gifts, and loved ones stationed away from the colony. Of Note; Lt

Pania, Six and Cully were disappointed in the actions of the miners and residents. A borg lecturing the colony

on human relations was something I had wished I had seen, although on second thought, perhaps not...

Cromwell has received a new request for help from an agricultural colony, again with sabotage. And again

with a mistaken identity of Captain Pania, Ms McAlister, the matriarch seemed to ask for Lt Pania to verify all of

my commands. Having her and Six return to the ship seemed to give a brief recovery. The colony matriarch is

what I have to describe as... Handsome. The colony is an important DFA asset despite remaining independent

of the DFA, producing significant portions of replicator raw materials for the DFA Fleet. They are experiencing

damage to the equipment, such as with a hole in the tire of a combine, and a broken Isolinear chip, similar to

Rhonnda. Ensign Monroe has delivered a tire to the combine which we can replace tomorrow. Tonight, Ms

McAlister is treating the Cromwell away team to a fine dinner, prepared by her youngest son Rory. I expect a

quiet night. This is probably a good thing as Cromwell is off on a short lost pilot rescue, but should be returned

in the morning.

<End recording>

Kamaia and Loch strike up a friendship, and Loch recruits her from some research into medications and his dreams... or is there more to the story? A Dream and a Mothers instinct seems to be in play here. Six Brinn and Kamaia take a family trip to the beach. Six is very busy in her schedule, but finds time to drop her ficus off with ensign Millar for babysitting. DW 111 has little to say about it. DW 123 applies for a job and gets handed the entire bar.. Is there a new name in the works for the bar? Six is busy bussing tables at said Ten Forward bar, and taking Vulcan lute lessons and studying Vulcan meditation. Six is also looking to get a new paint job for her armor. Six lectures Brinn and Major on the resistance against the borg. Conclusion: You can't. El comes out of her shell and heads to Demeter with Loch to join the away team. Meanwhile: DFA Academy Cadets are still taking their second-year practical finals. They reached New Kyushu and encountered a Bear. Connar mucked it up by failing to turn on the sensors...or was that purposeful sabotage? He's also claimed never to have released Cody, Tas' Vole, which regularly created havoc on the Academy dorm floors during most of their second year as room mates. Paige decides to investigate a Volcano. Fleet Captain Carson Sesgaard Commanding Officer DFA Cromwell-B

XO report: "Cromwell Executive Officer's report: First, I have to say what an honor it is to have been considered for this position, let alone to be have been granted it. A marine serving as XO of a ship. I'm not sure that's been done before.. I'm not sure I would have accepted it were this any other ship. But Captain Sesgaard has put together a very cohesive crew, and often uses talent in unconventional ways. It is, truly, an honor to serve with him. Almost immediately upon my assignment I was tasked to lead an away mission. Every member of that away team performed admirably, working together to deduce why the mining colony was having machine failures. In the end, a large part of the colony's issues seemed to come down to some domestic trouble, which seemed well on the way to resolving itself by the time we left. Crewman recruit Cer'Dan seems to be coming out of her shell. I think the time in the academy has done her a great deal of good. Our comms officer, Lt Pania, also shows a great deal of initiative and leadership potential, and I look forward to watching her career unfold. Our CMO, Dr Adair-Lovett was indispensable in her role as peacekeeper between the men and women. Our engineer, Ensign Nerik, and science officer Xaavik worked to rectify some equipment malfunctions. Six of Twelve, the Borg drone, continues to impress me, almost as much as she frightens me. I have to say it's good to have Lt ch'Kayag back. And now that I know his name properly, I will add that Ensign Monroe is a fine pilot. I look forward to seeing him in action as our lead helmsman. I now am tasked with sitting on my hands while the captain leads an away mission - and I don't even have the option of sitting in true Overwatch. We ran a quick side trip to pick up a stranded runabout, and the man we picked up - who self identifies as "Four of Six" - promptly disobeyed my direct order and has landed in the brig while we sort out his mental capacity. Or lack thereof. He... seems to be some sort of Borgophile. Sometimes... I wish for the sweet simplicity of charging a fireteam of marines up a hill at an entrenched enemy. But I fear those days are long behind me." Major Michael Reynolds.
