Cromwell's subunits celebrated an event designated 'Captain's Day'. This involves drawing images for Captain Sesgaard and consuming ice cream in Ten Forward. Captain Sesgaard looked after the subunits during the day and then celebrated with the adult crewmembers in the evening.
The next day, Cromwell detected a distress call in an unknown langauge, too unfamiliar for the Universal Translator to decrypt immediately. We set a course to intercept the vessel. It belonged to Species 10030: the Vrauzux. The vessel was badly damaged and not responding to hails. An away team including Six of Twelve, Lt Greene, Lt Xozalt, Crewman Goch and Crewman Hikock were sent to the vessel to investigate. We were able to collect enough data for Petty Officer Mallory to program the Universal Translator. Lt Green acquired this data through non-verbal communication consisting of symbols and gestures, instructing Species 10030 to allow Six of Twelve to assimilate their language libraries.
We discovered that the vessel is designated Hope-3 and was one of a group of escape colony vessels that had fled Species 10030 space. They were fleeing the Collective because we are in the process of assimilating the species, having discovered them utilising our transwarp corridors. The Hope-3 vessel was damaged by the Borg attack. Cromwell offered to assist in repairing the vessel and damaged units. More away teams were transported to Hope-3 to begin this process and Eeeklet, the Captain of Hope-3, was transported to Cromwell along with her diplomatic team to speak with Captain Sesgaard about the Delta Freedom Alliance. Species 10030 are an isolationist race who have avoided contact with species outside their own up until now, so they had little information on this region of space.
While in Hope-3 engineering, scanning the damaged warp-core, we discovered an explosive device that had been set to detonate in 60 minutes. Kit ordered the evacuation of the civilians on Hope-3 to Cromwell while Explosive Removal Specialist, Perry, arrived to attempt to defuse the bomb. The Hope-3 engineer did not know how it got there.
Captain Sesgaard was kidnapped using transporter technology by one of the diplomats that had arrived with Eeeklet. Major MarQ and Arrain N'Vek witnessed this event. The kidnappers sent a message demanding Cromwell in exchange for Captain Sesgaard's return. Eeeklet explained that the kidnappers were a part of a terrorist organisation called the 'Independent Vrauzux Organisation' who did not approve of interaction with other factions, such as the DFA. We do not know why. Perhaps they wanted to stay in their own space to be assimilated?
Major MarQ instructed Six of Twelve and Four of Seven to analyse discrepancies in the scans from Hope-3 and the schematics for the general design of that type of vessel. It appears a shuttle is missing from the Hope-3 docking bay.
Major MarQ and Arrain N'Vek worked on developing the technology to find Captain Sesgaard. This involved getting sensors past the Species 10030 cloaks, which relied on dampening fields and false-projection technology. Arrain N'Vek shared access to her Fighter, which contained a new type of RSE cloaking technology. One of the engineers was deactivated getting past the vessel's security but the data collected did allow them to develop a tricorder adaptation that could scan past the Species 10030 cloaks. Major MarQ, Arrain N'Vek and a marine search party went to Hope-3 to look for Captain Sesgaard.
Six of Twelve, Kit and Lt Greene were transported back to Cromwell when Commander Martis returned. New commands were provided but there was insufficient time to comply because the conference room was attacked by the terrorists. Six of Twelve and Four of Seven deactivated the majority of the attackers but some of the units fled before they could be deactivated.
Meanwhile away teams on Hope-3 are evacuating the civilians in case Perry fails to defuse the explosive. To do this, we are utilising the Fighters' transporters, the dropship transporters and Cromwell's transporters.
DJ Greene instructed Six of Twelve to locate Deekil, one of the terrorists who escaped, so we scanned through security footage but were unable to locate him aboard Cromwell. It is likely he is utilising the cloaking technology. Lt Sel'ra suggests he may be hidden inside the missing Species 10030 shuttle.
Dr Clark and Lt Tas have been repairing individuals from Hope-3 who were damaged, along with Petty Officer Mallory who was attacked by Deekil while assisting the evacuation parties aboard Hope-3. Dr Clark has just performed an experimental surgery to save the life of a Species 10030 subunit. The subunit is functional and the treatment appears to be working. Petty Officer Mallory is suffering from a rare neurological disorder designated 'Mallorian Synaptic Disruptive Disorder'.
The search party have just located Captain Sesgaard, unconscious, in one of the corridors aboard Hope-3.
